Best Tigris Prime Builds 2024 | Warframe School (2024)

When Digital Extreme released the Tigris Prime in 2016, the shotgun quickly became one of the most used weapons in the game.

The primed Tigris has the highest base damage of any non-Archwing weapon in the game and convinces with high slash damage.

It also has a unique shooting style since you can simply do a quick shot and release two shots at once or slowly keep your left mouse button pressed for only one shot and release it again for a second one.

Sadly, the Tigris Prime also has a unpleasant damage falloff and if you really want to deal a lot of damage, you need to be as close as possible to your targets – 100% damage is dealt in a 10m radius.

If you are further away, the damage falloff will drastic. But if you build her right, you can still deal a huge amount of burst damage.

Pros

  • High status chance
  • Highest base damage (non-Archwing weapons)
  • Strong slash damage
  • Unique shooting trigger
  • Comparatively fast reload speed

The Best Tigris Prime Builds

Generally speaking you want to build your Tigris Prime for 100% status chance, because her crit chance is pretty low.

The shotgun is very strong and doesn’t really need a Riven mod, but if you find one you should try to have at least close to 60% status chance.

If that Riven mod also has multishot or more damage you can easily replace one of the status mods with it.

100% Status Chance Tigris Prime Build

If you pick the Tigris Prime, you probably want to burst down high level enemies.

If you need a good weapon for Sorties, The Index, ESO or even Axi relic missions, picking the shotgun is always a good choice.

Viral and radiation damage are both pretty strong against Corpus and Grineer, but especially against light Infested enemies this damage type isn’t recommended.

So if you pick this build, be alarmed that you probably won’t do as much damage as you’d like in the next Infested mission.

Picking the four 60% status chance mods will get you to 100% status chance and you do need to reach that goal.

If you are at 99,99% you won’t get what you need, since the status chance is distributed on each of your shotgun bullets – so unless you have 100% status chance your bullets won’t each have the 99% (or less) chance to prog a status, but only a fragment of that.

Multishot allows you to deal more damage and Primed Point Blankalso increases your weapon damage output by a lot.

Also keep in mind that the order of your status chance mods matter. If you order them in any other sequence you won’t get viral and radiation damage. Don’t believe it? Then go ahead and try it!

Punch Trough Tigris Prime Build

Even though the status chance build is recommended and the best build for bursting down high level enemies, there is always the possibility that you want to try the Tigris Prime in low level missions against hordes of different mobs.

Going for a build with a lot of punch through will help you to kill those hordes faster, which is why you do need Seeking Forceand Seeking Fury.

The latter also reduces in combination with Tactical Pumpyour reload speed by more than half a second, allowing you to kill enemies even faster. Shredderand Sweeping Serrationare there to increase your already pretty high base slash damage, but not having 100% status chance is a perceptible disadvantage.

So unless you just want to try out a different build for reasons of fun and giggles it is always better to use the status chance build and just pick another weapon for low level enemies.

Conclusion

Up to this day the Tigris Prime is one of the most used weapons in the game. The high base damage and the ability to burst even high armor and health enemies in just one or two shots is very important in a vast amount of different situations.

If you need a good and specialized weapon, go ahead and find yourself a Tigris Prime. You won’t regret it!
