There are plenty of ways to make more Scrap in Remnant 2, and one of the least utilized methods is by selling unneeded items.

While there isn't an 'absurd' amount of Status Effects, and the descriptions of some of these effects can be found while the Status Effect in question is inflicted on the player, there isn't any sort of in-game codex players can browse through to see the in-depth information on them. The developers at Gunfire Games obviously made a conscious choice to let their players figure things out, just like they did with the Archon Archetype unlock. So, to help out Remnant 2 players struggling to understand what exactly things like Corroded actually do, here's an explanation for all of them.

Updated December 7th, 2023 by Jacob Buchalter: With the addition of the Ritualist Archetype in Remnant 2's Awakened King DLC, Status Effects are more important than ever. Oddly enough, even though it's a highly requested quality-of-life feature, neither Remnant: From the Ashes nor Remnant 2 have an in-game lexicon that goes over what all the different Status Effect, Status Ailment, Buffs, and Debuff icons actually mean. So, to help players get the absolute most out of their Ritualist or just general elementalist-type builds, let's go over every Status Effect and Status Ailment in the game.

Status 'Effects'

AKA The Status Effects The Ritualist Abilities Apply To

This first category is comprised of the Status Effects that players of both Chronos: Before the Ashes and Remnant: From the Ashes are likely already for the most part familiar with. They're the ones that players will often find tied to specific Weapons, Amulets, Weapon Mods, and Rings.

And now, with the new Ritualist Archetype added in the Awakened King DLC, these Status Effects are more important than ever before. That said, oddly enough, only certain Status Effects work with the Ritualist Abilities, those being all the ones listed in the table below.

For the rest of the Status Effects, while they technically are within the same category as things like Burning or Overloaded, it's much easier to label those as Status Ailments and these as Status Effects to separate the two. In short, just remember that Bleeding, Burning, Overloaded, and Corroded are the only Status Effects that matter to the Ritualist.

Burning

Usually, the result of Explosive damage or Fire damage, when inflicted will cause the target to take constant damage at a faster rate than Bleed triggers. Stacks up to 3 times total, and dodge-rolling reduces duration as one would expect from the 'stop, drop, and roll' method.

Mud Rub

Overloaded

The result of inflicting enough Shock damage to fill the Overloaded meter. Once inflicted, the target will trigger a damaging electrical explosion in a small AoE around themselves every few seconds for a short duration. When multiple Overloaded enemies are near each other, lightning may arc between them for additional damage, this can be seen very easily by using either the Enigma Hand Gun or the Ritualist's Miasma Skill.

Corroded

Different from Remnant: From the Ashes where this Status reduced Armor. In Remnant 2, Corroded deals Acid damage per second and increases the damage the target takes by 10 percent for the full duration of the effect.

Antidote

Bleeding

When applied, the target suffers constant damage are a slightly slower rate than Burning, and their healing effectiveness is cut in half for the duration. Lasts 20 seconds and can stack up to 3 times.

Bandage

All of the Cures listed in the 'Cures' Column of the table above are items that can be found at Dr. Norah's shop in Ward 13 or found randomly throughout the multiple worlds Remnant 2's Traveler ends up fighting across.

Status 'Ailments'

Basically, Every Other Negative Effect Players Can Apply To Enemies Or Have Applied To Them

The 'second' category of Status Effects, AKA Status Ailments, are the ones that players won't encounter very often. Usually, these are Ailments that only a few sources can even inflict or ones that are hard to fully determine if they'd even count as an Ailment.

In fact, a lot of these can't even be applied to the player, and are typically only applied to enemies through Weapon Mods or Skills:

Slow

Rarely applied to the player, SLOW all actions of the target while applied including movement, attack speed, dodge speed, and even jump speed.

Root Rot

What Cass had in the tutorial of the game. Typically applied by Root enemies that leave pink clouds of mist behind on death. Causes player characters to stop and cough every 10 seconds, which interrupts other actions they may be taking. When ROOT ROT is inflicted, the player becomes 'infected' with it, and must either use a Consumable, die, or rest at a Worldstone to clear it.

Oilskin Balm

Remnant 2: All Status Effects, Explained (14)

Madness

Usually inflicted on enemies by the player, almost always with the Fargazer Weapon Mod. When applied, deals a small amount of damage per second, with each stack lasting 5 seconds. Can stack up to 10 times, meaning the target would lose all stacks in 50 seconds if they aren't reapplied. Damage does stack as well. When applied to the player, also does DoT damage, slows the player, and causes their vision to gradually blur more and more as the stacks increase.

Suppressed

Almost exclusively applied by enemies in N'Erud. When active, Skills recharge 100 percent slower, and Mod Power Generation is halved.

Timeworn Unguent

Remnant 2: All Status Effects, Explained (16)

Cursed

A common Status Effect found in Losomn, typically inflicted on the player by the Fae. Reduces maximum health per stack, can stack up to five times max.

Purified Salve

Remnant 2: All Status Effects, Explained (17)

Fog Poison

Only applied to the player as they're walking into the fog of N'Erud's overworld. Causes vomiting as soon as the bar starts filling and causes instant death if the bar manages to fill entirely.

Corrupted

Applied by a very specific Loadout used to obtain the Archon Archetype and also applied by a few enemies on Root Earth. When the meter is filled, players won't be able to use Skills or Weapon Mods until it fades.

Fragmented

As of now, this Status Effect seems to only be usable by the player with the Defrag Weapon Mod. When a target becomes Fragmented, it will drop a 'Glitch' on death that lasts 15 seconds before disappearing. If players pick up this Glitch, all their damage is increased by 20 percent for 15 seconds. If a Glitch is destroyed instead, it destabilizes and creates a Virus Pool which deals damage per second and applies Fragmented to any enemies inside of it. Can also be applied to players by the Annihilation Boss.

Duration

And that's everything that can really be described as a 'Status Effect' or 'Status Ailment' in Remnant 2. Keep in mind, however, that there are tons and tons of other keywords found in this game on Rings, Skills, Weapon Mods, and more denoted by being in either all capital letters or the text being a specific color.

A lot of these Keywords can, again, be put on the player character so that players can see what they do by hovering over them in the Character Menu, but many of them are just left up in the air for the community to figure out over time.

Each world has its own unique Blight, and your general Blight Resistance applies against each. Status Effects are temporary ailments that deals damage over time and wear off on their own.

Suppression basically doubles the cooldown on class skills and cuts your mod generation in half on top of that. Very annoying in general especially with builds that rely on those more often. If you check your skill cooldown while suppressed it will reflect the increased duration.

Since players are in a Ravenous state, their health will keep dropping, and they won't be able to use any of their healing relics or consumables. Elemental dmg types are in the following category : Shock / Fire / Corrosive with their corresponding status effect Overload / Burning / Corrosion. So no, Bleed isn't consider Elemental dmg but rather Physical dmg. Hex will apply multiple debuffs at once though. So you can still do elemental damage with it.
