Other USC will be good next year. They were final 4 team last year without these additions.

Oh nevermind she's Oklahoma bound. Big loss for Geno, big win for the SEC.

JuJu got them to the Elite Eight (edited)

Now they're adding Kiki Iriafen and Talia von Oelhoffen.

And bringing in this class (3 Top 25 and all 6 Top 100):

The southern cal transfers are starting to remind me of the way lsu put their team together last year

They are getting a good player in the Stanford girl but she is going to need touches. The Oregon state girl needs touches too

Juju is very ball dominant it will take a change in her philosophy to make it work

But that also could be because they had no other options besides her

Agreed. The key will be how they work together as a team. Juju wants the ball every time. I’ll be interested to see how she handles more talent on the court.

I agree Beers to UConn helps make them better especially after getting Chen

But they still have to make it all work and given all the injuries they have had recently it’s no given that those girls come back 100 percent

To me UConn is about the same with Beers essentially a replacement for Edwards

Chen replaces the guard they had but I am not sure she is as good defending as she was. That girl could play defense

They get better if the freshmen they got come in ready to play but again they are freshmen

SoCal will be tough, but not quite tough enough. Looks like we’ll be somehow flying under the radar again next season as the #1 undefeated team.

No team should scare you at all. Van Oelhaffen isn't better than ANY guard on Carolina's roster.

UConn gonna be way deeper this year. I think they will be better than socal. Get all 5 injured players back, plus the freshmen that were forced into action this year as a result of all of the injuries. Their center is gonna be Jana El Alfy. Fresh who didn't play this year due to injury. She's 6'6" and UConn folks think she will be better than Edwards anyway. Played for Egyptian National team.

Their injured players have never lived up to the hype. The center may or may not be good, but it's unlikely she's better than Edwards. So, they've added some depth but nothing to really address their rebounding problems.

I’m interested to see how they fair with those long trips to the other B1G schools. I’m in the old PAC territory, and I have yet to talk to an alum of any schools who think the traveling will not affect performances of their teams.

Just like after 2017 and 2022, the only team that will keep S.C. from winning another NC in 24-25 is South Carolina.

Dawn admitted after 2018 that she celebrated the 2017NC to long at the expense of her next team. She’s never allowing that to happen again. In 2023, she got out coached in one game. She proved in 24 that she learned from that lesson.

We have 2 questions going into :24-25; 1) who gets Cardosa’s 20+ mins and touches 2) are there enough touches to keep 10 stars happy

Southern Cal will need to defend a lot better. I think UConn will be the contenders.

If Tac is not ready to be a contributor,* then I think there is a question about our ability to defend a very specific type of player - overpowering post players. But there are not that many players like that out there and they tend to be on teams that are not particularly loaded this year (e.g. Ayoka Lee).

    * I mean developmentally, not health-wise. She has not played much since she was a sophom*ore so she may need time to be ready.

Agreed. You can make the argument that Chen is step back from Nika Muhl who was a lottery WNBA pick. She was their best defender by far. Chen may be more of a scorer but she is probably not on the same level as Muhl defensively.

And yes they still cant rebound with us and cant play near the level of defense that we can.

I think it will be a combination of Tac coming along, Watkins and Feagin. Everyone forgets about Feagin. She is very solid on both ends and with increased minutes will see the scoring and rebounding numbers increase.

We also have to factor in minutes for Joyce
