Some Alabamians are excited about the possibility of snow. It's even odd to say this out loud, but the probability of snow accumulation in Alabama increases the further you go south. Typically, it's the opposite.
The National Weather Service in Mobile is forecasting 2-4 inches of snow tomorrow in their area. According to The Weather Channel, winter weather is rare near the Gulf Coast.
Current Winter Storm Timeline
A developing winter storm is set to bring winter weather to Alabama. As it develops, potential shifts in its timeline, threats, and overall impact could occur as conditions evolve.
Residents are urged to stay informed and monitor updates closely as the situation unfolds.
Tonight: "Snow and ice will develop Monday night in Texas and Louisiana before spreading eastward across the South," said The Weather Channel.
Tomorrow: "Snow will begin by mid to late morning over Southwest Alabama, becoming widespread during the afternoon and evening hours mainly south of U.S. 80 over the southern counties of the state," said James Spann, ABC 33/40, and Townsquare Media Tuscaloosa Chief Meteorologist.
For areas along the I-20 corridor, including Tuscaloosa, the likelihood of snow tomorrow significantly diminishes.
