In the midst of centennial celebrations, a southern Vermont brewery has a special a beer for the 100th anniversary for Vermont State Parks.
PLYMOUTH, Vt. (WCAX) - In the midst of centennial celebrations, a southern Vermont brewery has a special a beer for the 100th anniversary for Vermont State Parks.
Whetstone Beer Company releases a new brew each season as part of its Pints for Parks program - a collaboration with Vermont State Parks.
In honor of 100 years, part of all proceeds will be donated to Vermont Parks Forever - one of the state parks partner charities.
Owner of North Chair Brewing Keane Aures, who recently bought Whestone Beer, says he hopes to carry on the tradition.
“That was actually one of the first things we did was make sure we contacted the parks and said ‘Hey we’re new owners but do you still want to do this’ and they said ‘yeah we love the program’ so we’re going at it again,” Keane Aures, North Chair Brewing Owner said. “What we’re trying to do is something the state parks are already doing, and so its was a natural fit for us to continue supporting the parks just because we’ve been trying to promote that outdoor recreation the entire time here.”
You can pick up the limited edition lager at Camp Plymouth State Park.
